Dude! This is fantastic! I was wondering what to do for Negative myself.

It adds a certain fantasy aspect to the picture because there seems to be a magical light within the hand or something.

Wow. Probably the single MOST FUN setup and cleanup of any picture here on DPC.

I love the eyes... You are what you eat!

Nice job on a difficult subject. However did you focus on it? ZIPERs!

Around here we have these hover flies that I would LOVE to get a picture of but they are WAY too skittish and seem to know when they are being snapped.

Odd, it looks like there was an error while uploading as the bottom is all greyed out for me... could be something wrong with my system, but I reloaded and tried a few times back and forth...

Anyhow, this is really good, very nice lighting and great use of Depth of field. It also looks like the insect is alive! Tough to photograph!

I'd like to see a larger view of the bug too...

A couple of things to note that I came across with my own macro shot is that when resizing, I lost a LOT of fine detail. I therefore made an action in PS to do this in around 20 steps. I find that it's a bit kinder to my detail. Doing 20 resizes by hand sucks.

Also, a quick pass with USM might also help bring out the subject's details a bit. I think I can see some hairs lining the eye....

The angle of composition is vey pleasing as well. Nice!
Do I understand your question then, is it hopeless and forlorn?

Liking the great depth of the picture as well as that totally wicked lens flare. Damn that's sweet. I'd love to know how to do that. Lens flare is one of my favorite mood enhancing effects.

Nice work. Tone down the saturation in the blue of the eyes a bit more and it will really be a 'double-take' inspiring shot!

I think it's beautiful. The way DOF has been used looks very decisive and adeptly controlled. You're a lucky dude, dude!

I'm still not quite sure what the remembrance is all about? Maybe you could post it in the photo description?

Is she getting older and missing her more youthful 'girls'? I was looking for a possible mastectomy or something medical. Sorry, but it is indeed a bit confusing.
