Why a 5 not a 6: To me the crop is just to tight. The lighting is flat which makes the contrast and colors a little flat. No real pop. Since the shot itself doesn't tell me a story I went to the title. From the title it tells me the eye is the main subject. The composition doesn't take me there. Not a bad image but it doesn't do anything for me.....Just an opinion....ace

Why a 5 not a 6: For the most part this is a Great image. Composition is good, it tells a story for me. The flash washed out the colors pretty much in the lower third of the image. You have red eye flash issues in her eyes. Mostly lighting issues for me. A good B&W treatment would had done well for this shot.

Why a 5 not a 6: The player at the bottom is distraction and interferes with the subject. In sport photography the higher scoring shots for me have action in it. If this shot even with the player at the bottom had a the puck in flight and the player attempting to catch/block or some kind of movement I'd scored it higher. The technical aspects as far a color/sharpness/composition is fine. (the stick in the top right could had been cloned out, my eye wonders over that way)....ace

Why a 5 not a 6: The shot is technically very good for the most part. Colors are great, sharp, nice dof. The problem for me is there is nothing to lead me through the shot. Like a visual leading line to take me to a place or a subject or anything for my eyes to follow. My eyes are all over the place and can't tie into the shot. Just an opinion....ace

Had to come back and bump to a 6. Again it's well done. If I had above, It would easily been 7 or 8 for me.

Had to come back and bump this shot from a 7 to 9. So well composed and tells a story. Great treatment on the processing.....ace (might be back to bump again...Lol)....... Nice work!!!!
