Pens, Dog, Bobbleheadby elemessComment: In b/w: Comes off as a very nice vignette. Good choice of collection and setup. Great use of long exposure to bobble Mr. Lee. Lighting is a bit un-dynamic, but tonality makes up for a lot of what the lighting takes away.
Great Job. Nice finesse. |

UPDATE,UPDATE,UPDATE!!!!!!!!!!by fordmanf1Comment: Nice use of long exposure and great job of keeping the rest of the hand motionless. Too centered in what comes off as negative space. Perhaps a different angle on the spot lighting to show off a bit more of the surface as well.
Great detail. |

Kettle on Kook top in Kitchenby TCGuruComment: MurKy shadows. Seems slightly asKew and somewhat noisy. The dark cook top needs a bit more light and a closer crop to accentuate the reflections of the rest of the kitchen would have added greatly to the impact on this image.
Title humor falls flat, giving the appearance that the artist did not know how to spell cook instead of the tongue in cheek that was intended. Could be due to the unintended rewording to KOOK. |

The Yoga Frogby emily212Comment: An interesting take on the challenge - nice use of table and wall to create a division of thirds. Image is hurt by lack of contrast which gives it a hazy feel, perhaps oversharpened. |

Reflectedby UrfaKComment: There is a murkiness to the shadows and darker areas that directly impacts this image. I am very challenged to 'see' the left lower third and it is a distraction. Beautiful image elsewhere and nice reflection. |

Give me wings and I will fly... by faeryComment: Very nice image. Captures the concentration and intensity of the work. Appears that the focus was sharpest on the enamel, not the plane, which does take away the proper focus in this image. Great tones. Nice contrast of black, grey and white. |

Jones Soda Co.by leah53Comment: I like this challenge perspective. Nice subject and arrangement - good colors. Lighting i bland and the image itself does not pop (perhaps some heavier USM?) Would have been dramatic on a black table cloth with a pin spot (leaving background as is, not black). |

the globe and some booksby steez6Comment: Image has a yellow cast to it. Most likely caused by Fluorescent lights. Find your white balance setting before taking pictures in this lighting and manually set it to the fluorescent setting rather than Auto. This really will help to remove the yellow.
Appears that you could have used a bit more focus or a higher number on your f-stop to allow for more depth of field.
Good attempt, but only the flags appear in focus. |

Glass Ceiling - revisitedby LeeDComment: I like this positioning and angle much better than the previous image, but have to revisit my earlier commentary. Without the title this image does not invoke thoughts of corporate America and the treatment of women. To me it is a dark and disturbing captivation of some kind. The worst kind of captivation.
It is an incredible image! The kind that lingers in your mind and picks at you. You have done amazing work here, but something, something needs to hint at corporate America to really push the editorial.
(perhaps a tie in her hand?) |
