bare necessitiesby sanandanComment: Very clever shot. Too clever, in fact. I admire the thought that went into this shot and I offer the following observations. 1) many people won't recognise this as a kerosene stove. 2) there's no way the viewer could know that this kerosene stove was being used to roast peanuts. 3) You can't quite make out the word "Live" in "Live with it". I still love the texture of the shot - I just wish I'd been able to get the rest of your idea out of it too. |

bare necessitiesby sanandanComment: It's a lovely sharp, colourful, high contrast shot but what is it of? Not that it matters much - you've captured the oldness nicely and contrasted it with the newness of the other unidentifiable thing. :) |

In memory ...by triciaComment: Good use of light and colour. Looks like you pushed the colour up quite a bit but it works for me. The lighting being strongly off to the side makes the carved letters easily readble and give the picture depth. Great shot. |

Bridge Through Historyby deckyonComment: Nice choice of subject but we have total blackness inside the tunnel and it's a little off centre. Otherwise a fine photo. |

Derelictby DavidComment: What is derelict? The building? The wall? The corrugated iron sheet? Nice focus, colour and contrast but the picture lacks direction. Where are we supposed to be looking? |

bathroom lockby grahamgormanComment: Wow this should have been entered for texture! You've pushed the contrast and colour way up and I love it. Nice focus - good crop. Great shot. |

Abandoned Stairwell?by ManicComment: Interesting viewing angle - really draws the eye down to the bottom of the stairwell and holds it there. It's a little gloomy but that's obviously down to the location - not much you could do with that. Some strange blockyness on the red rail in the top right corner. Seems to be because it's against the gridwork metal floor. Nothing to do with your camera or processing - just an odd optical effect I think. |
