This is the case when half desaturation doesnt seem to work so good. Maybe should have pulled it till grey if it was disturbant but somewhere between. The focus also seems bit too soft.

Its nice strong colors but photo is to small to see the detail. Should always try to present as big photo as possible. Alos its not clear enough if you have focus there or not.

Honestly its not appealing. Maybe you like it just because its your baby but for stanger...hmm. For picture taking I suggest to use plain colors as bacground etc. nothing stripy or dotty. Also seems you went too much in close up and missed the focus. Every camera have different minimal focus range, you should check your or use macro mode.
