This could have been a very very good shot but unfortunately the eyes are just barely visible and so much in this shot, in my opinion, rests on his expression and because you can´t really make it out (my monitor is calibrated, by the way) it loses a lot of impact. Anyway, what I am trying to say is that I like this shot a lot but feel that it really didn´t hit the target, but definately keep it up, this is very promising.

Unfortunately I don´t think you will do well with this shot but I hope you do, I like it very much. The soft shadows, the composition, just everything about it. I bet this would look very good in a very big frame up on somebodys wall. 9

No I refuse to give this only 3 as a rating :) This is a pretty good shot, good contrast and sharpness so I gave it a 7, how´s that?

The fact that you cut off their feet kindof ruins it for me personally, either I would have liked to see a wider shot with the feet in the picture or a much tighter crop, maybe waist up. Good shot though, good lighting used.

The lighting is a bit harsh since her shadow is on the back of the umbrella and the composition could have been better, the negative space at the top doesn´t do anything for me. Anyway, not bad, as a matter of fact better than most shots in the challenge, keep it up.

Perhaps it is because you overprocessed this shot but his face looks like you cut/pasted it in there and didn´t do a good job on it. The shot itself is good though, just I can´t get over the whole "fake" look so I am going to try and not influence your rating on this shot and give it the average rating of 5.

More Than Words

Great portrait, very intense eyes and great lighting. Only thing I don´t like is your crop, I would have it tighter and lose that space on the left and top but this is a strong image.
