Please do not take this as an insult on your wife and child (I assume they are yours) but the shot itself isn´t very good, looks more like a cute family photo and nothing more. It´s not all bad either though, with the exception of that line in the backround it´s a good backround and the ligthing is good. What I would want to see done better are not so tight crop and something more interesting going on in the picture, like the baby smiling at the mother or just anything besides sitting and a forced smile at the camera. Keep it up.

Soothing crashes indeed. Looks like a very good scene to go to and you captured it well, somehow I get the feeling that it would look good in colour but don´t get me wrong, I like the shot as it is.

Good shot, excellent tones and it´s an interesting subject but then this isn´t a wow shot either. To nitpick I think she could have been in a better pose, her hand on her face pretty much looks like she is scratching or something like that, anyway an unflattering pose IMO. 7

Awesome shot, a very good portrait and I love the lighting. I love the composition too but I think if you cropped a bit tighter it would look good too. Anyway an easy 10 from me, hope you do well.

I don´t get the framing here, what is with the HUGE white border on the right and the small one on the bottom. Anyway I don´t get it (if there is anything to get at all) and it just plain ruins it for me for this looks like a promising photo. You got good lighting, interesting subjects and although it looks a bit soft that is not neccesarily a bad thing, I probably would have given this photo 6-7 but I am one of those narrow minded fools that can´t look past the border on the right.

Too dark to really make out any details and while that is sometimes a good thing, in this case IMO it is not. Maybe this was intentional and then I just don´t get it perhaps but if not you should check out your monitor.

Bear Necessities

Backround is really distracting, either recompose or use much shorter DOF but other than that not a bad shot, not exceptional either though.
