Looking Upby ryandComment: Hey dude, thought I´d just rather comment here than reply to your email. I dig this shot but still, not really got that "wow" factor. The lighting on you is good, I especially like the eyes and the catchlight in them and there is good texture in your face, hair and front of the shirt. The colors are also very good, really to my taste and so is the contrast. I don´t really like wide angle shots of people, makes things that are close seem much larger than they really are, in this case, your nose. Also the angle it´s shot at is cool and different but there is still something "off" about it and it actually gives me slight vertigo, it´s a little uncomfortable to look at, think the dark backround that you can´t quite make out is causing that, if it was more easily indentifiable, like a floor with tiles or a little river stream it would be more pleasing to the eye.
Anyway, cool shot, would have voted a 6 had I voted and at least it stands out from the crowd, it took me exactly 3 seconds to spot it from the thumbnails :) |

Awesome shot as always, and my wife wants to know how in the world did you manage to get a girl to stand like that in the freezing cold lol. Great job Grats on top 10 |
Tsk, that was easy! I just asked really nicely and then showed her the photo of me in my 52nd week PAW last year and just said "be glad I am not having you do this butt nekkid and stop complaining" and that was it :) |

d i S c O n n E c T by timfythetooComment: Hey Tim, way to go! Congrats on the ribbon and glad to have inspired you :)
For those of you who are nagging about him "stealing" the idea, get over it! It´s hardly like I invented this type of shot, it´s been done before and I got the idea from a b/w magazine I read a couple of years ago wich had legs in the top part of the photo, cropped off and the face visible in a puddle but didn´t resemble my or Tim´s shot in any other way. Tim took the shot and did it his own way and was far from copying my shot so why should it matter where he got the basic idea from, wether that was from DPC or some other source, does that really matter? I think some people need to realize that there is a whole world of photography outside of DPC.
Thx for the credit Tim and congrats once again :)
