I get that the cat is the odd one out... but the focus is not on the cat... in fact it took me a while to even notice the cat!

From a straight up presentation with conventional editing, it's not super sharp. I'd like to have a feel for what I am supposed to see here. I don't know what the intended focal point is. Assuming that it's the nest, it's dead center which is a tough composition to fly.

I mentioned the sharpness, and the branches in the top right corner are beyond distracting, in my perspective. There's another single, errant branch in the lower right corner. Also in that lower right corner there's another peculiar element that is odd.

I honestly cannot conjure up anything from this offering that says "Portrait" to me.

Anyhow for me


Thankyou!! After it opened for voting I realised I had completely missed the 'Portrait' part to the competition! Oh well.... lesson learned!

I love the photo but not a fan of the edit. I feel like the edit makes the mold look like the inside of the peel, and therefore there is no differentiation between the two.
