I really like the idea behind this photograph - showing the eye of a needle with the person's eye behind it and showing through. I wish the top of the needle was fully in the field of focus - thats my only negative to the photograph.

For a macro competition it doesn't really fit IMO. And I'm not really crazy about the frame either.

I really like the full frame presentation. The colors seem a little flat (could be my monitor) to me though.

Different day (same monitor) and the colors look much more vibrant and appealing (kicks monitor and tells it to behave).

My only suggestion would be to focus on the single plate and the wine and forget about the plate in the background. Since the foreground is so much the focus everything looks centered this way. Just a little different crop would make the image much more powerful IMO.
