I don't understand what this has to do with the passage of time.
Thank you Mr. Hefner.

This is by far my best picture. Technically I think I met a lot of my personal challenges of not using too much contrast, and keeping the reflections of the bathroom light off the glossy paper.

I recieved some of my lowest scores in this challenge too. I assume some of it is due to the content, but if there are other reasons please let me know.

I think there are quite a few that disagreed to the applicability of Hugh Hefner to the theme of Hero: (definition) A person noted for special achievement in a particular field: the heroes of medicine. In this sense of the definition I think this picture is applicable. Although, it really doesn't compare with the pictures of war veterans, which deservedly placed much better.

Thanks for the great responses, Brian.

This was my first entry. I didn't put much thought into it. I didn't want the flag in it, but I was reaching out over a balcony to get this shot, and didn't have much choice. I didn't think about the shot enough to crop the flag. And yeah, it is crooked. Won't happen again though. Thanks for the comments.

I think this pic would have done much better if I'd managed to get the singer in focus instead of the microphone. When I realized it was out of focus I decided to take it a little further for style and soften it up with the contrast.

Bizarreness is pretty subjective. I guess my pic was riding the line. The pic does have those resolution lines. I realized them too late. I used the Microsoft picture editor to shrink the picture. I won't make that mistake again.

I'm sort of contrast crazy. I'll make an effort not to use it so much.
Thanks for your critiques.

I don't think the photo is out of focus. Nothing else in the foreground of this picture is out of focus. I guess I played with the contrast too much. I'll work on that next time.

Good subject choice, but if the glare on the right side of the building could have been reduced it would have been better.

7 - I really wish the bird on the left was in better focus. It is a great setup.
