Not that I'm not disappointed at the stooping ;) |
I don't disagree with this or Robert's comments at all - it was a conscious decision to go mainstream on this one...partly as a test of my commercial skills (since I do shoot this kind of thing commercially now) and partly cuz I just felt like it.
Fear not, regular P-stuff will be forthcoming :) |

Angie by PedroComment: Pedro, I'm going to have to be the odd man out here. I love your photography a lot because you capture so much emotion and personality in the people you photograph. This one to me, while technically fantastic, looked like an appeal to Joe Six-Pack.
I mean, the lighting, colors, etc are fantastic. Technically you couldn't have done a better job. But to me it doesn't come close to having the soul or artistic feel your shots usually have. This looks like a shot for the Maxim or a men's calendar or something like that. I hate to be the lonely voice that wasn't thrilled with the photo, but I figured I'd give you my opinion anyway. |

dancing in the streetby grigrigirlComment: I like how the sunlight adds texture to the ground a lot. I also love the burst of colors coming from the sun. The whole scene is really very festive with the onlookers and musicians. Obviously that wide you can't control the flares but they're not too out of place with all the other colors happening. Maybe would have been good to see the woman a bit more...a more sideways pose. Overall effect is great. 8 |

Deep in thought...by NowaytotellComment: The desaturated color doesn't bother me at all, that's nice. The background does. I just think it could have been more flattering to the overall feel of the shot. |

Vintageby Rino63Comment: Different, lots of textures, good pose and very nice. The crop at the face is a little strangely placed. I think this would work better with the whole head showing, even if the face were turned so the person can't be recognized. Good shot. |
