Austin - Week 1by magenmarieComment: Great portrait!
I have many people object when I crop off the top of the head, but this is a perfect example of why in can be so affective. By taking the entire head of the subject out of the composition, the focus goes right to the eyes.
I really like the overall pose, including the tilt of the head.
One opinion... a little more contrast may help for a portrait of a male, but that more of a topic for discussion rather than problem.

Sierra....week 2 of PAWby njsabsComment: Fantastic portrait! Technically well executed and it shows a lot of your subject's character.
If I had to offer any critique, I would like just a little more space around her right eye (left of frame). This is very picky and it really doesn't take away from the image, it's just an opinion if it helps.

Do you think of the post processing as you are shooting or does this come later and you are looking at the images? |

Nolan1.jpgby dssagent88Comment: While I know this isn't a snap-shot, I like that it has a very casual and 'real' feel about it. If this was hanging on a wall I wouldn't be thinking good portrait session, I would be thinking about the child and wondering what he was up to with that towel. |

The sweater and shirt kind of blend together (not a bad thing at all - all attention is drawn to her face) - wonder if a tighter crop to reduce some of the lower part of this picture would work? |
No fill flash or reflector, we just happened into some amazing light.
As for the crop, 5x7 and 8x10 crops eliminate much of the bottom, I just posted the original crop... not sure why. |

Yes, the sun was setting and the lighting was getting warmer as we we shot. In this case left it a little red to leave an evening feel to go with the deep shadow, but I probably should have brought in back inline with the other images. |

The Poseby timfythetooComment: Excellent work! Wonderful pose and expression, nice depth to the lighting, and I like the falloff or vignette on the background. Not a thing I would change here. |
