After playtimeby floydComment: Would have liked to see a little more of the glass of milk. It barely reads like a glass of milk. I know it is that because my mind makes the logical association between cookies and milk. Another problem i see is that the white shape of the milk takes my eye right out of the picture frame. This image doesn't grab me because it's a little too sentimental for me but that's just my own taste. 5 Journey |

Looking up at the worldby mcraelComment: Good image; interesting angle. Nice composition with the fence, flowers and house. Nice colors. This image only speaks of childhood because of the title but what the heck. 8 Journey |

Anybody Got A Step?by DazzermasComment: Original concept (I had forgotten stuff like that from my childhood! ! :) The angle you took this from is good to emphasize how tall everything appears to a small child. Nice too to exclude the toilet itself from the image (thank you!). It's interesting that for me the top half of the image is the most interesting to look at. Perhaps that is because the ceiling light is very sharp (much more so than the tank) and it is also more quie than the bottom third of the image. Would have liked if you had removed the yellowish thing (?) that is on top of the tank as it clutters the image; perhaps ditto on other clutter that might be around there. Prelim 7 Journey |

Childhood Spent Locked in Closet, Rays of Hopeby paganiniComment: Initially I thought the yellow projected some sort of an object in space. First of all, I commend you on using a "tough" subject. It's a wonderful break from all those toys, toys, toys. And yes, I get transported in what the child in that closet sees: nothing except that little bit of light. Yet, I find that from a photographic image I would like to see a little more. I know see three dark shapes at angles and 3 light shapes at angles. That's okay but from a graphic design point of view it is not particularly strong. Wish I could say that better. Emotionally it has a lot of impact but visually it doesn't. And I feel a good image is the sum of those two. Hope I didn't offend. 6 Journey |

the spirit of a smileby jamiraComment: This is a pleasant image. I thought though it was pretty easy to understand that children were not supposed to be featured in the image. Anyway, 5 Journey |

Protective Motherby TomNTexasComment: Nice image of deer. Childhood seems to be associated with humans though, isn't it? 5 Journey |

I get the window!by lynnesiteComment: You know, I grew in The Netherlands and kids are exactly the same there! The fights we had who would get the window! So, I can relate to this. I'm sure there will be people who will say this only meets the challenge because of the title, but what the heck. This is a nice image except for what is showing through the little bit of windows. Am at a loss to suggest how to do that differently because you needed some window. I guess it might have helped if the windows were rolled up and it might have seemed more opaque and hence less intrusive. That's an old car, too, what with the chrome and in good condition. This really brings me back to my childhood. 7 Journey |

No One's Here to Playby briansuhComment: This image is very clean and has a surrealistic appeal almost. I can't figure out whether it is actually real :) It's either shot from high up but the grass doesn't seem to bear that out or it is a toy set up. Curious :) 6 Journey |

Blueby DannyComment: Nice idea but it gets a little boring if you look at it for a bit. Although there is that one blue pencil, the overall image lacks tension to sustain my interest. The focus is also very soft but that may reflect the quality of your camera. 5 Journey |

happy trailsby mnewmanComment: Pity that the two pencils aren't very sharp since they are the focal point of the image. I presume it's the result of the quality of your camera. Since there are so few elements on this picture, every detail counts. I find therefore the color selection of the two pencils on the yellow background not the happiest. Journey |
