Congratulations Marcel, a well deserved ribbon to add to your growing collection. You've done an excellent job and created a fun yet convincing composition worthy of your successful result. I like all the background elements, the shallow DOF and lighting it all works well. Perhaps my only criticism are the reflections in his helmet of your pictures hanging on the walls, a consideration for your next home studio set up? |

You've gone for the 'Ah how cute' route with your lovely soft toy polar bear with his appealing expression, lovely. I'm not convinced about the lighting, its very blue and very red, I think more subtlety and more white would have perhaps been more successful for youâ€Â¦? Anyway, thanks for entering and sharing YaoJun. |

I didn't realise that nicey Barbie got up to such naughty thingsâ€Â¦! Great idea Susan, well thought out and I love the title but, as you recognise in your comments its not perfect, lighting being the key issue. But the idea is great, thanks for making me laugh... |

One minute you're swimming around without a care in the world, and the nextâ€Â¦ Great action capture Tom, presumably from the same or similar sequence to your triptych? It's nice to see so close up but therein lies the problem in that perhaps you have cropped too close and the sharpness is not quite there. I do think your image was well worthy of comment and disappointed for you that no-one else contributed during the challenge but perhaps thats confirmation of my own commentsâ€Â¦? Anyway, still a great shot Tom, thanks for sharing. |

Vermeer would have been proud of it Ellie! A nice play of shadow and light it is really quite appealing. Given the scene I think your aperture was too small, I would have thought you could have achieved the same DOF with f8 or thereabouts for a faster shutter speed/ISO combination which I would always recommend for best image quality. |

A pleasing composition Marcel. The foreground branch leads you nicely into the rest of the frame, the bridge is pleasingly in a complementary position. Good saturation of colours from correct exposure, smoothing of the water from a long exposure with good DOF throughout, technically, all good. |

Wot, no wildlifeâ€Â¦! Lovely reflections of a lovely scene Ronnie. From my own viewpoint I would have saturated the colours more with a reduced exposure and I would have cropped at the junction of the trunks and foliage to really emphasise the reflections and see more of the reflected grandeur of the trees in that lovely rippled water

A lovely natural portrait Susan. I like the composition and pose looking over his shoulder, the DOF is perfect too, nicely isolated with just the right amount of detail, though I would have been tempted to remove that sprig of foliage on the bottom left. I certainly feel it deserved a higher score, 007 would have been proud of it.
Now I understand the guinea pig commentâ€Â¦!

Oh Janine, all I saw initially was the feathered texture alone, I absolutely loved it, stunning. Then I scrolled down to see the image proper and that too worked really well, but together? I'm sorry but I adore one or the other but not both together but well done for coming up with the creative idea in the first place.

What a lovely contrasting landscape you have in the background, against that sky it works really well. I'm not so happy about the foreground, it feels as though it would benefit from more exposure. However, I am imagining this scene without any of the cacti, for me that simpler image would work stunningly. Having said that, there are still a couple of problems, there is evidence of banding in the sky and the hills and cacti have sharpening halos.
