Well done Janine, a great result for a great image, well deserved. What a great choice of subject for the challenge and very well executed too. Its inevitable that in this sort of difficult exposure you will get some blown highlights from the brightest parts but you have controlled it all well, the all-important interior is very well exposed. Lighthouses are fascinating structures and this is no exception a lovely building. I like Art’s comment about the sign! So, what does it sayâ€Â¦?

To be honest, I think this is quite an open challenge in that I find it difficult to define a style for Melethia's photography so with that in mind I could imagine her taking such an image. The image itself is very pleasing, your low-level viewpoint gives an interesting perspective especially given the reflective nature of the floor. I like the mono presentation, though I think there is scope for a little more contrast. This is one of those scenes that would lend itself well to perfect symmetry though I don't have a problem with this composition. I've only just noticed Melethia's comment so, well done Marcel!

Whilst this appears very similar to your other recent entry in terms of the challenge itself, it is very effective. I like the colours in the light and the way it encircles your model. I find her pose a little awkward but there is also an air of mystique about it so it does work. I quite like the cropping but the heavy post of the pier is rather acting as a barrier. The lihting that falls on your model is very effective it enhances her appearance. All in ll another good attempt, well done Ronnie

This certainly fulfils the challenge brief well with its capture of light and its architectural setting. I think I like that you haven̢۪t taken the obvious approach of square symmetry but I think more care with the diagonal symmetry would have increased its impact. Whilst the girder with its oval shapes on the left adds some additional shape interest, overall it unbalances the image. I like the shapes the grid reflections are making on the dome, again it adds more interest.

Wow, this looks an impressive place to cast off the day̢۪s weary burden! The open space of this rooftop restaurant provides you with plenty of light for sure and the shapes of the square and the shadows gives you plenty of form too. Your title helps convey the party atmosphere that is certainly evident in the right corner. I assume this was your best shooting position? It̢۪s a shame the tall buildings In the background interrupt the skyline but not much you could do about that certainly from this position.

Another great entry Gin Tay, this is a lovely piece of work, the subject is really appealing and very well done. I may have cropped the left at the end of the painting to give more of an impression of a larger continuous work as you have on the right.

This certainly fits the challenge theme. I like the way the bins are also a part of the larger graffiti mural. Compositionally I think I would have tilted the camera to exclude the sky and roof furniture it doesn̢۪t add anything whereas more street foreground would help contain and concentrate the focus more

Sorry Marcel this one doesn̢۪t work for me. I have to agree with one of your commenters, there needs to be a sense of placement where this part of a larger scene such as wall mural with additional street scene if that is indeed the case. It actually feels like some bizarre PS filters have been used to transform a normal image which is a long way from my interpretation of the challenge theme.

The motion blur works really well here, I like it. What also makes it work so well is your timing with the small aperture to create that dynamic starburst effect in exactly the right place. The balance of the runner and the lighthouse is good, even the exaggerated swing of the arms also creates a further dynamic all finished off nicely with that huge grin it results in an original and appealing image, well done Yao.

Thank you for your explanation it saved me some head scratching! A very creative idea that you have captured well, I love the distortions that the water has created it gives the whole image a new dynamic that works really well
