Sunrise Above The Weatherby kirbicComment: You have just a bit of a sharpening halo around the nearest mountain silhouettes - otherwise a pleasing composition and great colours. |

Fruit Rainbow by VitaminBComment: Great concept and arrangement, but the lighting is a bit too harsh - and it would have been improved by cleaning up the stray hair in the lower left, as well as the visible wrinkles in the background along the lower left and elsewhere in the shot. |

Plottingby UrfaKComment: The lower right falcon has a darker patch of sky between its legs, which adds a rather distracting element to an otherwise well composed and edited image. I don't see any juxtaposition though, this is just... position. |

a place for reflectionby ManicComment: Excellent concept, startling. And well executed, good tones and use of grain. You have just the tiniest hint of sharpening halos along the horizontals of the chair, removing which would have brought it from a 9 to a 10 for me. One of my two favourites from this contest. |

The Wallby MAKComment: Snow in the Holocaust Memorial always makes it a promising scene. I like the way the figure or figures in the background stand out. However, the composition here seems to focus on the trampled snow in the foreground rather than the interplay of light and shadow on the concrete, which is the really interesting portion of this image. The building visible in the background is somewhat distracting, and I find myself wishing the background figure or figures were posed in a more interesting way. The image is also a bit tilted - a clockwise rotation of a few degrees, as well as a more careful crop to bring out the symmetry between left and right halves, would have helped strengthen the composition a lot, and could have turned this from a desaturated snapshot into a work of art. |

reverseby TiberiusComment: Excellent, flawless bold composition and crop. Very daring. I just find myself wishing there was something other than washed out white in the sky. Still, one of my top picks for this challenge. |

Solitary Manby markwileyComment: Going for the Ray Metzker look here? Nice tones and overall composition, and of course lighting; however I find the complexity of the background a little distracting, with details such as the parking sign and yellow bollards and lights inside the window on the left each drawing attention from the core composition. |

In Vitro by PaulComment: Hi Paul - recognised this in thumbnail from the edit as much as the content. Is that the Voigtlander lens? Strong composition and concept . I personally feel there's just a little bit too much pale fill in the shadows, I'd have liked to see a little more depth of colour there, like the deeper green fill you used in the recent Night Guest photo. One of my top scores in this contest. |
