I think a little dodging and burning on a layer may have helped give this subject a little pop. I think it's probably a very nice photo, but it's so dark it's hard to tell. The darkness makes it appear a little flat. Hope this is helpful!

I think it may be a little too dark -- especially around his eye on our right. I don't mind the left side being much darker, but the right side needs to be brighter to bring out some detail. Hope this is helpful :)

Great compostion! The duck is a little too dark, in my opinion. I'd try a dodge and burn layer in PS to lighten him -- especially in the area of the eyes.

This is so close to being the perfect photograph. There are so many things right about it: color, dof, composition, interest. It's just that darn branch in front of the birds face that ruins it! And I know you had no control over it. Your skill as a photographer really shows through on this photo, but since it's advanced editing rules I probably would have cloned the heck out of that branch! :) Good luck!
