I don't often have time to vote on the challenges but I'm glad I clicked on your profile to see what you'd been up to. This is a beautiful shot. The transluscent quality of the birds' wings sets this apart from the average wildlife image.

Well the land part of this landscape doesn't really appeal to me. The sky, however, is terrific. I would have liked to see a slightly longer exposure for the sake of the water. I'm guessing though that you didn't have a tripod handy.

Nice use of colour here. I like the way the fire refracts (?) through the stem of glass. Could be improved if the glass was slightly crisper.

Would have loved a longer exposure to smooth out the water. The sky, however, looks particularly fiery. 7.

Very professionally done. The angled composition works well. I'm not completely sold on the crop (perhaps it is slightly too tight on the left and at the bottom), but it's worth an 8 for the excellent technical execution.

Summoning the flames

Well if this guy was about 40 years older this shot would have a more 'authentic' feel and probably get a ten from me. As it is you'll have to settle for a 9. Well lit, composed and processed.

My other nitpick is the use of the basket - would have been more effective if the fire had just been on the ground or alternatively emanating from some rustic silver cauldron or something.
