A heron started telling me how hard it is to catch fish todayby jitamsComment: Excellent shot. That bird really has personal qualities and you captured them perfectly. I've watched these birds some and this is an extraordinary pose. Great focus on the bird and the depth of field washes out the distractions nicely. Looking hard for something to change, the only thing I can think of would be to keep the feet, but even then I don't know that it could be any better. I love it! |

"Super Green dragonFly "by ladpupmoeComment: Cool bug. I would have liked it better if its left side wings weren't cropped. The other wings disappear naturally over the pipe, but the complete nearside wings would have enhanced the shot, IMO. |

The Waspby canyoncatComment: Very nice. I like the bug and the rock it is sitting on. I would have preferred that his antennae and stinger (is that what that is?) were not cropped. |

Sun E Trikeby FrostyPawsComment: Composition is cluttered with partials of another bike and a car. The solar-pedal powered bike is pretty extraordinary, but the photo doesn't really stand out. Perhaps a better setting would have done it. Maybe something like an old woman in a dress riding it at the front of a paceline full of Lance Armstrong wannabees. |

Leading troop of clonesby paha_lComment: This photo does a good job of hitting the 'extraordinary' theme. I like the clarity of the orbs, but I'd like it better if something unique/ interesting was reflected in them. The table is pretty ordinary (looks like an oak tabletop). Perhaps a more highly figured wood or something totally foreign looking would've made a better backdop. Overall, though, really nice photo. |
