Focus and bobble make this image difficult for me. It takes a lot of practice to get this type of shot just right.

The lighting and soft focus hurt this picture. Too bad you could capture the subjects holding hands...that would have tied in with the banner.

I see words, but the picture itself doesn't really tell me a story. Midday shots are difficult enough without filters or underexposing. Maybe some additional elements to the picture would make it more of a photograph and less of a snapshot.

I can't tell what is going on with this picture. The image resolution is too low. Even though there are words in the photo, I'm not sure how they relate to the challenge.

this could be a nice picture, if it was in focus. not quite sure how it ties into the challenge.

try to avoid cutting off feet and hands; when they're missing, they distract from the rest of the picture. street photography is tough, especially if you don't have permission from your subjects (or if you don't know if they will come after you). also, shooting midday is tough on the lighting. however, if you have permission, you can get some interesting results by underexposing and using a flash.

nice composition, but the focus is a little soft. hard to say if you need a tripod or to adjust your settings.

nice fit for the challenge. the lighting, though, really takes away. you could either underexpose or wait for a different time of day.

Comment:
the baseboard distracts (and takes away from the 'starkness'). also, the shadow in the bottom right indicates something else is around...positioning and cropping could give you the image your shooting for.
