Slack-linerby tehbenComment: yeah, right...
nice image, wrong venue...
your image topic is far enough out of the mainstream to make it almost inaccessible to most viewers (meaning it's a stretch to ask dpc at large to consider balancing on a rope a sport rather than a physical activity).
but, if that's what you want to do, you have two options. one, go the xion/boysetfire/ubique route and explore it abstractly with absolutely no concern for the score, or two, explore it in such a way that you not only capture the imagination of the viewer, but you also educate them immediately as to the physical connection with sport (for instance, a slow-shutter silhouetted shot from a low perspective).
you took a risk with this, and your score will probably not be your reward. i admire that, as there were any number of things you could have shot that would have been more accessible to the voters. |

Court's in sessionby mercaptanComment: wow. looks like something ed clarke would have shot, if he liked sports. he'd probably also tone it bw, but then, that's ed. this is my fave of the challenge, next to mine ;-) great job!
coming back to add, this is one of a handful of shots that make me say, 'damn, i wish i'd taken that...' |

Swinging Into the Sunsetby daveymanComment: i hope it doesn't offend you for me to call this a
SHOEHORN!
i'm fairly opened minded, but please don't expect me to consider swinging at sunset a sport... |

The Backstop by mpetersComment: this looks like a sports action photo, but it has a serious studio-like feel to it. |

Fisherman's Sunsetby jasonlpriceComment: beautiful graphic image, but it has more of a setup/studio feel to it than the essence of sports action. |

NEXT!by LVicariComment: sorry, but a big no go from me. studio shots just don't have a sports action feel to them, no matter how well they're taken. you might get points from the dpc eye-candy crowd, but not from me ;-) |
