nice enough shot, but nothing pj about it. sure, there are plenty of assignments that say 'go get a shot of a xxx', but the best images are the ones that make other photojournalist say, 'i wish i'd shot that'

great idea, nice enough shot! personally, i prefer a lower perspective (like floor low), to get more dramatic and dynamic images.

newspapers run headshots all the time, but they fall more into the 'portrait' category than the 'pj' category. as is, this one's a little soft and the lighting is not that flattering...

nice work. i'd be inclined to put the camera on the table pointing up into one kid's face, clicking through the all the facial expressions close up. all the same, your image tells a story without a need for a caption.

needs to be cropped a LOT LOT tighter. in pj, you really want to fill the frame, removing all but necessary story telling elements.
