I'm a Ladyby kwiktorComment: That is a darn difficult capture, and you nailed it! I love the lighting on this, and the deep green background. |

Harvestman Full Sizeby CoryComment: Originally posted by Cory: Originally posted by kirbic: Awww, poor little guy. Just what the fudge are those orange things? They look like egg sacs of some type. I bet poor Mr. Harvestman has a nasty surprise coming. |
From what I can tell they are some sort of parasitic "tick" that prey on insects.... There are several stages of "fullness" to them if you look closely, just like regular ticks. This poor guy has so many of them that I don't at all doubt this may be fatal.. |
Yep, a little Googling and lo, looks like they are parasitic mites of the genus Leptus. I bet that's painful. |

Em-before-and-afterby hesitantComment: The skin tones are much improved! She has such fine skin already, there's really very little need for retouching. I must say, the edit is a little plasticky, IMO. Take that for what it's worth, I tend to err on the conservative side with textural changes. |

Librodized by timfythetooComment: First of all let me say that I *love* the composition, color, facial expression, lighting, and the general soft feel. It's a beautiful, expressive image.
I do think that you went *way* too far in the processing of the skin. She looks plastic. |

Winter Wonderland by ThingFishComment: Beautiful image, congrats! I do agree with you that your alternate edit is better; significantly so, in fact. I don't think the score would have been all that much different, though. |
