The Dark Sideby scalvertComment: So, this is how you see yourself? Which side is the photog side and which side is the SC side? Maybe they are not so deliniated. To your credit, this is a striking portrait that is unsettling without being disturbing. It makes me stop and take the time to comment...and the only complaint I have is that it looks like your dark half is slightly off from where it should be located - only ever so slightly, but that is just my eye, yours is most certainly better. |

Wrinklesby tooterComment: This works just right. You can see the character and color quite well with the processing and the full-frame face shot. It's not over-processed, and that's good, because the subject doesn't lend itself to such a harsh treatment. Good work and good luck. |

Big hairy apeby LalliSigComment: You said you were the best looking man on the site, and I haven't the will or the data to be able to disagree. Nice work, as always. Your B&W work here is contrasty without begin too dark and harsh where needed, soft where needed. You know, it's almost as though you took this shot on purpose. Good luck. |

Cold Lunchby graphicfunkComment: Mr. Funk, I have to say that I, like pretty much all others, appreciate all of the time you take to comment on other's images. I for one, however, would like to see you make the same effort on your images. I feel that there is more to gain from the little narative in the 'Comments' section of the photo than from the technical information. Very rarely do I find it interesting that a shot was taken at 1/500 sec and iso 200, but to find out that this is the photog's favorite spot to take shots, or it's one of a series of self portraits, or was accidentally taken when they sat on the remote...its a brief look into the photog's psyche...a cool trip. |

Black Churchby TiberiusComment: The Biserica Neagra was closed the two times my girlfriend and I were in Brasov...it was one of the places I wanted to see the most while in Romania...thanks for the photo.
She said she has always had bad luck visiting it...we'll have to go back. Luckily, for an American, just walking around in Romania is enough of an adventure. We saw lots of monasteries, spent some time in the mountains, saw lots of museums in Bucharsest and elsewhere. All in all, the most memorable thing had to be the food. I couldn't get enough mamaliga or salam de sibiu, but I couldn't stand aspic or pickled herring.
Thanks for the memories, Tiberius. Keep shooting. |

squaredby holdingtimeComment: To me, this image looks like it was stretched...something about the proportions are just skewed that way. In either way, I like the strong color of the sky, and that the remainder of the image looks to be B&W. It is an interesting shot, so much so that I felt led to comment (it takes something to make people stop and stay a while, so good on you for that). Have fun...good luck. |

Party Infractionby muur88Comment: I feel that this shot will do well. I'm not a big fan of the D&B work, but it does provide a gritty, urban feel that I assume was your intent, so for achieving your mind's vision, well done. Nevertheless, you've done a good job capturing this shot, which has inherent humor, and you must have a good eye to have caught it. Good luck. |
