Bodhisattva by labudsComment: amazing - must be a double-exposure, yes? Since everyone else is guessing too...I'd say used to filters over the lens (maybe painted a UV filter, or used black cardboard)...one with a black spot in the middle, for the hand, and one with a black surround, for the eye. Immaculately done. :) |

Yummmby BigZenDragonComment: Wow - what a spectrum of comments! it was a very iffy submission....so I guess I should have expedted both sides. I agree that the DOF is too narrow - there really is just a sliver that's in perfect focus...and while I would love to blame it on the equipment, we were really just dealing with bad lighting - opened the aperture almost all the way just to be able to get the shot. I hadn't planned to retake it, but all the positive comments may inspire me to! |

Tawny Frogmouthby BigZenDragonComment: Yeah - I know the contrast could be better...I was shooting through a wire mesh, hence the 'haze' some of you mentioned...tried to up contrast/sharpness through that, but enough to compensate for the haze was too much for the rest of the picture...but he manages to look mean anyway. :) |

Amida Autumnby BigZenDragonComment: Originally posted by tfaust: Speaking on title alone, this image doesn't speak 'Autumn' to me at all. Speaking of the photo in general, I don't see much that captures my interest. |
Well thanks...That's constructive. Given your stated lack of interest, you could have withheld comment...
So you know, autumn is alliterative and refers to the timing of enlightenment. I live in Hawaii which looks this way all year round (not too much in the way of color changes). |

Temple in the sandby BigZenDragonComment:
Here's the original shot of the sand...used 4 copies of the same shot (2 zoomed in, 2 zoomed out) to make this one.... |

Sailboatby BigZenDragonComment: I do have a bigger one uploaded for prints - if you go to the dpcprints page, I think it'll offer a larger preview... (sorry - I'm still no good at linking to other images...) |

The Bee of Frankensteinby BigZenDragonComment: The picture is from underneath a honeybee, as it is drinking. The title was probably a bad idea - mostly irrelevant - just a (what I thought to be) humerous reference to the 'Frankenstein' like lightening effects overhead. I was trying to focus on the point of the proboscis contacting the drop...hence the blurring of the legs. |
