Thomp-084041.jpgby rjksteschComment: This is fantastic! You've worked the reflection really well and having the ducks in there just finishes it off. I would love to see this with a slight bit of softening to give it that dreamy sort of feel! Excellent work Rebecca! |

DeedeeBridal114626d.jpgby rjksteschComment: It is always difficult getting the lighting right in these outdoor tye shots with filtered sunlight but there's not really any major blown highlights so it's worked well. I would of maybe tried shooting from a slightly higher angle so the fence in the background filled the frame more instead of having stop around her head. It may of made for a slightly more pleasant background. Good work. |

Roseby rjksteschComment: Now I find this photo very interesting. It's great to see an alternative style crop in a wedding photo. I would of maybe saturated the colours in the rose slightly just to make it really stand out. I guess you could even do some slight dodging to help impact it. Great idea and very well done! |

Can You Hear The Ocean?by boxImmortalComment: * Greetings from the Critique Club *
Hi Amy. It was fortunate that you were on vacation at the beach when this challenge came up and you chose a great subject for it.
Two things come to mind as to how this photo could of been improved upon and both have been mentioned in previous comments. Framing is important and placing the lovely shell smack in the middle of the shot probably hurt your score quite a bit. I know it's filling the frame but maybe if you had of pulled it back a tad and used the rule of thirds to compose it to add a bit of impact to it.
I understand that by your comment you didn't really have access to proper editing software. This is a real shame as the top half of the photo really needed some cleaning up. There's some serious noise and artifacts around the shell and the ocean which no doubt would of affected votes too.
I really love the colours you've captured and they really stand out well. Considering it looks like you've shot in full sunlight I wouldn't be too concerned about the few blown highlights on the front of the shell. You've kept them pretty well under control. You've also got some wonderfully crisp focus on the shell too.
All up, well done on your 2nd entry. It scored well and placed well. You should be proud. Best of luck in future challenges.

Do I Trust You?by JudiComment: I love this image! It almost has a medieval feel to it! I would of preferred slightly more brightness in the eyes but other than that it's perfect! Well done again Judi! |
