The Nailbiterby starlight autumnComment: Too high-key. Makes it look more like an autopsy shot that an entry of artistic merit. And the more chewed nails I see in this competition, it makes me feel that it's the _action_ that's the habit, not the result. |

My Habitby lightpro1Comment: Personal choice, I would have gone for a slightly darker tone and would have caught all of the gauge. It also bugging me just a bit that the line of the hinge isn't straight in the frame, but that's probably being a bit obsessive. |

A Real Nail Biterby utopian mangComment: While others may not go wild for it, I'm impressed with both the softening and the choice of high exposure. A solid 8 in my book. |

Refreshed by the Hourby BooZonComment: While I enjoy the composition, and get all of the technical imagery in this shot, I personally try to vote on the basis of someone seeing this shot in an open gallery. I'm going to have to go with a 6 on that scale. |

Deadly!!by Kalli99Comment: Crop this to the extreme center of the shot, and I wouldn't have had to fight all the business of the background. And of course the sky wask in the upper left is likely to get you in trouble with a lot of folks. |

From my childhoodby KiraComment: altering it to b&w probably would have brought out a bit more character in the shot, as the colors don't add anything to this piece (mind you, they don't really detract, either... I believe the phrase is, "mostly harmless"). I'm going with a 6. |

Fire Bug at Workby katlynComment: While I wouldn't be surprised if you got panned for the amount of harsh "white" in this shot, I think it really works here. And you've caught just enough flame to give us "the beginning". Great drama! |
