Shift workerby IreneMComment: Great pose and facial expression, great lighting. I'd like to see a little bit of background to get a better feel of where he is. 7 |

The Tree Doctorby dainmcgowanComment: All signs point to IR on this one. But the fact that you've got me second guessing is a really good thing. I'm curious to see who took this shot. |

Goin' to the Chapel...by slide12345678Comment: Whoa. You're good. I'd like to leave something constructive, but I can't really figure out what to say. Sorry, I guess you'll just have to deal with a long-winded comment saying that I like you're photo and that I'm giving you a good score. |

Book Wormby KaliComment: Doesn't really catch my eye too much, but if I could offer some (hopefully) constructive comments: 1) Book worms are generally really into what they're reading (while as this girl isn't). So I would have had the model actually reading the book. 2) Because of the bright orange and high contrast with the other books, the Chronicles of Narnia book is really distracting and takes away from the shot, in my opinion. 3) I think a wider, more rectangular crop would have changed the feel of the shot in a positive way. |

IDentity on the Darkness ... by meshary_85Comment: It's such an awesome shot. But either I'm really tired and my brain isn't working, or you've made it extremely hard to understand this one within the framework of the challenge. |

Paul by wildirisComment: 1) First time I saw this shot I thought to myself "what am I looking through?"
2) Then I took a look with my girlfriend. She thought "where is the camera?"
3) Then we talked about it and she brought up the excellent point that this is EXACTLY what Paul sees when he's on the job, day in day out.
I'd say all of these elements combine into a pretty amazing environmental portrait. The fact that I've seen the shot several times but it still intrigues me is worthy of an excellent score. |

Carpenter Chrisby naomikComment: Sweet photo. The only criticism I have is that the bracelet, being brighter than most everything else in the shot, is somewhat distracting. |

In The Elementby dmul91Comment: Little bit over-done (post-processing wise) for my tastes. Still a cool shot though. I'm curious if you're going to be voted down for not showing the face (pretty standard to most portraits afterall). 6 |

The stand-up comicby burtctComment: Good lighting and interesting composition. But there is nothing here that tells me this guy is a stand-up comic. So in short, the photo is lacking the basic part of an env. portrait - the environment itself. |
