Eye of the lakeby DJSComment: I really like how clean this is. The boat stands out nicely from the water without being oversharp. I even like the title and the border. |

Playground, But I'm Only 2by yoshi718Comment: Great leading lines, but I wish they lead to something other than a plastic bag stuck in a tree. I do like the ominous feel of the black & white - a not-so-nice reminder of how daunting a playground can be when you're so small. |

The Harborby puzzledComment: I'm not entirely sure where to look in this shot. The foreground boats don't form much of a line but point to the sandbar which leads my eyes off to the right toward ... nothing at all. The background boats also lead nowhere. The contrast of the colors in front with the drab everything else is interesting. Perhaps a different angle or perspective would help give the overall shot some focus and/or heft. |

Papa Mountain and Sonby vtruanComment: Yeah, "Orientation" was on the second line on my mainpage, too - I almost missed it. This is an interesting take on "Portrait in [a] Landscape." I think it needs more contrast. The snow seems a little too gray. I'd also like to see a bit more of the "son" on the right. |

Thornsby HeterocephallusComment: There's something weird about how her head is sort of just stuck there in the bottom corner. Maybe it's how it's framed by the fence post and barbed wire? I kind of like the soft focus on her, though. |

Autumn falls into winterby Sieruken7Comment: I'll let everyone else tell you DNMC; here's what I like about the picture. I like the sets of lines and how each is different: foreground bushes, red tree line, hazy horizon, even those top clouds. The colors aren't oversaturated the way so many are over in the Free Study challenge. Nicely composed, well-thought out shot. |

Paris Landing Golf Courseby RockBruiseComment: I think this shot would look great in the course's brochure or in a travel booklet highlighting local golf courses, but I don't think it's very strong standing on its own as a photograph. It's a pretty view, but it's a pretty standard pretty view - there's nothing particularly exceptional about it. |

Miss Klingon Empire 2006by elemessComment: Originally posted by CalliopeKel: How does one earn this title? ;) |
By winning the Miss Klingon Empire 2006 pageant, of course! Contestants are judged on beauty, an interview, and even a talent. This year's judges included George Takei (Sulu) and Denise Crosby (Tasha Yar) and an official judge from the Miss America organization. |

She's a little monster. An adorable, playful monster who loves kisses, but a monster nevertheless. |

What? Me Worry?by elemessComment: Thanks y'al! I should be getting a report from my co-worker (who took Kitty to the farm) on Monday. She was the last chance before I would have taken Kitty to Animal Control - none of the no-kill shelters in town could take her (they had no more room for cats). She was just a week or so away from getting too big to slip through the fence between my building's backyard and the neighbor's yard, so she would have either starved (the neighbors are never home) or been caught by my dog. Either way - Very Bad. |
