Eggheads and Equinoxesby strangeghostComment: Beatiful image and composition. I am normally very lax on "meeting" the challenge, but feel in this one that the use of a light COLOR is the whole point, and would think it unfair to those who included that to score a B& W highly. Sorry. EDIT: after so much variance in the interpretation of the challenge, I am coming back through and this time judging on photogrpahic quality only, and not if it meets the challenge within reason. Bumping up. |

Balancing Eggsby NitinComment: I am very lax on "meeting the challenge", but for this one, I really feel it must contain a light color to be in the spirit of the challenge. The botton line/border is also really throwing the image for me. With all that said, it is honestly a beautiful photo. EDIT: after so much variance in the interpretation of the challenge, I am coming back through and this time judging on photogrpahic quality only, and not if it meets the challenge within reason. Innocents by SonifoComment: First, this is just exquisite!!!!! In ANY other challenge, I would give it a 10. But I think it would be unjust to the folks you included a light color in their image to score this that high. I think the challenge hinges on that concept and was very specific. Sorry. White Soulby babymaderoComment: While I am one of the most lax on what meets a challenge, I truly think this one has to include a light color to score high. Excellent image otherwise. On a totally personal side (not used in scoring) it appears a little too post-processed for my tastes - whether it was the editing or not. Just an FYI so you can know what one voter did and didn't see. Hope this is somewaht helpful. Just Eggsby PixelstateComment: I am usually very lax on what meets a challenge, but I think it would be unjust to vote B & W tonal ranges very high when other people worked to create an image incorporating a light color into a white background. I don't know if that is what you meant to do with the bottom, grayer egg, but it actually is more distracting to my eye than interesting. Sorry. |

Snow whiteby AnastasiaComment: I honestly see no "light color" here and I felt that the challenge was defined by this factor. In a B & W challenge, I would give this a 10!!!! I just feel that to do so right now would be unjust to the people who "met" the challenge. EDIT: after so much variance in the interpretation of the challenge, I am coming back through and this time judging on photogrpahic quality only, and not if it meets the challenge within reason. white wineby ursulaComment: Thisi s one of the most well done images of this type I have ever seen. Almost like a charcoal drawing. I hate to say this, but to be fair to those who truly met the challenge by integrating a "light color" with white, I feel I have to lower my score on your just a tad. I see a pure B & W image here and the challenge was very specific regarding a light color. Sorry. Translucenceby hannafateComment: I am not one to get picky on "meeting the challenge", but have actually tried to get myself to pay more attention to it. It wouldn't be fair to those who did include a light color in their image to score this, a B & W, high. Sorry. This is a stunning image. Winter Daisyby AJFIComment: This is one fo the few egg pictures to meet the challenge in my opinion, because you inlcuded a light COLOR - yellow. I have to score it down just a tad for the jagginess and blotchiness coming through, in fairness to others. |
