Sentinel

Could this be Zoomie's? What makes this shot a standout is the layer upon layer upon layer of tonal range. You make Ansel proud. The sunbreak out along the coastline in the distance, just behind the "Sentinel" trunk is glorious, as is the subtle mist among the coastal rocks. IMO, cropping out a bit more of the grey clouds at the top of the frame would give this coastal Sentinel even fuller expression.

Clever way to "frame" your beautiful subject. Frame has problems with the lack of symmetry. Composition inside the frame is superb.

Every bird inside the frame. The eyes are lost due to the darkness of the original or post-processing choices. Eyes say so much in a creature. Excellent study of flight. All the best.

Good story in this photo, with the refrains of the song singing in my head as I look upon this solitary fellow. BW works very well. Bit of white haze around the subject (whether there in the original or P/S work) is good offset to heighten this guy's isolation. Cool shot.
