Ocean Waltzby TranquilComment: This is a very nice shot. I wonder if you experimented with other processing options to enhance the contrast a bit, or even to bring out some subtle detail on the otherwise featureless blackness of her dress? Great composition - it shows a perfect sense of how to crop (or compose) the shot. Very well done! |

Strawberryby ladpupmoeComment: Great idea and composition, baaaad lighting. To harsh and direct. Was it on-camera flash?? |

Sex sellsby nico_blueComment: Yes, it does. Sumptuous detail. They look positively good enough to kiss. |

Quarter Moonby marboComment: Gorgeous detail. I'm guessing a telescope instead of a long focal-length lens but I'll be curious to see. |

Boundriesby ZippyComment: An absolutely GREAT idea for this challenge, and I think you've pulled it off brilliantly. The court lines and colors are sharp and bright, and the ball has just the right amount of blur to suggest that it's an actual freeze-frame from the US Open where Agassi got a bad call (or whatever). My biggest complaint is that you thought of this and not me. Bravo and kudos. I hope you score highly with this. |

Bridge lines over the cityby blancericComment: This is a tremendous image in composition. The lines are beautifully used throughout. The selective desat looks as though it has had some bad results in the small vertical cables, which look blotchy halfway up on the right. If not for that, I believe you'd have a very highly placed photo. |

Perspectiveby bruskiComment: This is really quite spectacular. Use of lines and geometry at its best. Very rich tones, great sharpness and detail throughout. One of my favorite images in the challenge. |

Eyelinerby MAKComment: I really, really want to like this image, but something just doesn't click for me. I'm sure it has something to do with the extremely shallow dof. So much of the detail of the eye is lost in the front and back. I'm sure you were intending the very singular focus on the saturated portion of the eyeball, but I think you would have gotten more 'wow' if the other parts of the eye had been gently (not dramatically) defocused. On the other hand, the portions of the skin just below, and to the top left, that are in sharp focus add a tantalizing element of wonder, and give the eye places to stop and rest as it roams over the photo. I've been back to this entry several times (remember, I REALLY want to like it) and haven't tired of looking yet. I just think it could have been stronger... |
