It certainly is a busy scene! IMO, the image lacks appeal because of the business. I think you should have focused on the repetitive nature of the orange barrels, maybe gone for a perspective lineup, disappearing into the distance, or messed with dof, or something. Your entry comes off looking like a snapshot out the window of your car.

The tower at Antietam Battlefield! Great location for a shot but your pic looks woefully over processed, and as though the flash fired as you were looking through the window. The result looks very unnatural.
