Excellent use of the stump for subject. This is the type of thing that sinks many otherwise excellent landscapes - lack of a discernible subject. Great job on the technicals too.

An extremely effective use of light and shadow. The lines created by the drifts and light angle are very pleasing to the eye. I love it! By eliminating the foreground at the bottom, you could have created a true abstract in black and white. Outstanding!

I'm not crazy about the effect created here by the post processing. Having said that, I love the subject and composition. The textures are amazing, from his face to his hands to his clothing, there's so much to look at here. I wish there was more separation - visually - between the background and the subject. It's an amazing shot that I think will be punished by your choice of processing. The halo created around his jacket, the duotone appearance, etc.

Love it. I've toyed with this idea myself several times. One of the challenges of shooting moon-illuminated shots is to keep them from looking like daylight. You've pulled it off brilliantly.
