That was done in a new layer using a zoom blur, fading it back to get the effect just right, then erasing back the couple to clarity, followed up by some close-up cloning along edges and/or manual blur tool use.

ummmm - I didn't do any of the editing - it's a lentil one.
I did a wash-out on the area outside that I thought could be cropped away.

Natures Camoflaugeby d_tierney24Comment: I see you used Photoshop Elements to do the Post-Processing on this and offer a couple things that would have really helped this. To correct some of the washed-out look and general lack of contrast, a simple Auto-Level adjustment could have been done, then edit, fade auto-level adjustment to about 75%. Another thing that is hurting this is the image compression, causing a lot of compression artifacts / blotchy sections. When saving the image for a challenge, use the Save for Web method and use the full 150Kb available for the challenges. That method will remove all the non-image data from the file and bring the quality way up. |
