Closer than what? Closer than a parade of flags? Closer than the color blue? Closer than ever before? What a great shot. I would emphasize the monochromatic nature of this shot by cropping a half inch off the bottom, eliminating the yellow lighted portiong at bottom center. Then, the archway/windows at the end become almost a door at the end of a long tunnel. Gorgeous color on this, really. It's just the title that throws me. It comes off as a cheap shot, trying to squeeze a photo into a challenge where it doesn't really belong by use of a not-so-clever title.

yeah....at first I wasn't that interested in this piece...or the title. It didn't really speak to me. Until I realized that the author might be referring not to "the troops" but to the victims of US agression in the middle east. My heart does indeed go out to those whose homes have been wrecked, bodies mutilated, and families destroyed. Viewed in that context, the image of rivers of blood rolling across the globe makes this a masterpiece of irony. If it were me, I would retitle it "Good intentions Gone Bad"

This is actually a very nice shot. Something about the cropping/angle bothers me, but I can't quite put my finger on it. Oh wait....I can almost see it.... Seriously, the angle of the model's eyes, and the cropping of the photo draw the viewers attention away from the beutifully spot colored heart you've presented, and instead make this photo all about the model's nipple, and how you can almost, but not quite, see it.
