This is just the right type of picture for black and white. I really like the composition however it has an all over sort of muddy look to it. I think increasing the contrast and perhaps pulling in the levels on the dark side might have greatly improved your picture and really made it a stand out shot.

Very interesting subject. I really like the texture visible in your picture and the color is lovely as well. I'm not really keen on the lighting, since it's coming from the back it obscures the front part of this interesting jade bead. Also the shadow in the lower right corner is odd. I think this centered composition would work better if it were cropped in closer on the sides making the picture square.

An Apple a Day....

Very nicely focused and the color is good, too. The light reflection on the apple is kind of distracting, it looks like you might have used a flash to take your picture. If this isn't a flash reflection then your light source was too directly on the apple causing the reflection and hard shadow.

Interesting subject, nice composition and good lighting. I really like the texture that shows on the round part of the key that is in focus. To me, your picture would have been so much more interesting if more of the key had been in focus.
