| 09/11/2002 12:47:00 AM | a lone nutby SatelliteSpeckComment: Was a seven, then I realized a nut is not a fruit/veggie became a 6. Then I realized this is not a nut, became a 5. I like the lighting, even the bright spot. I think it would work better as a horizontal so you don't have to drop out the shadow play. 5, just-married |
| 09/15/2002 12:28:00 PM | Kiwiby jcofComment: This was a good concept, but definitely caled for a macro setting/lens. Unfortunately, the blur doesn't do anything to create interest/relevance for me. The framing is nice. 2, just-married |

| 09/10/2002 08:06:00 PM | A Long and 'Rinding' Roadby chrisabComment: Beautiful. The colors are spectacular. The concept is quite creative and very well executed. Your DOF is terrific. I like the bright spot in the foreground. It reminds me of sun glinting off snow (into the eyes of the squiting blueberry <wink>). Very well done. 10, just-married | Photographer found comment helpful. |
| 09/10/2002 08:30:00 PM | Mango Lipsby falveyComment: The concept is good, but the result is not interesting enough to me. I think it would work better as 480*640; also, it's not quite centered, but so close that it WANTS to be. That makes it look like a mistake. I think if you want it to be off center it needs to be more obviously so. Back to the face itself, I think it is maybe the lack of pupils in the eyes that is bothering me. Not positive though. Good idea. 5, just-married |
| 09/10/2002 10:03:00 PM | Lunchtimeby CreativeFlyPhotoComment: First, this is one this week that the tumbnail just doesn't do justice to. I like the fact that this fills the whole image. I like the spiral the eye takes you in, though it gets lost a bit on the far right side where the meat is cropped out. I think I might like to see a hair more there and a hair more on the bottom to strenthen the spiral effect. I think that the circle of the carrots compliments the circle of the spiral as well -- it both takes part in the larger shape and speaks of it's own shape at the same time. The colors work very nicely and in fact are making me quite hungry. I like the variety of textures present. The cool, flat sunburst of the carrots, the crinkly crispness of the lettuce, the softness of the meat. The lighting is very well done, and my only nitpick there is that I really like the glare off that bit of fat in the center, but the bright white on the meat makes it look some texture. This is a NITPICK, it's something I would burn in a sec longer in a darkroom, but not a flaw in the photo. Overall, very nicely done. 8, just-married. | Photographer found comment helpful. |
| 09/15/2002 12:05:00 PM | one biteby bernie77Comment: This photo just lacked interest to me. The focus was also a bit soft. Not sure how it could be improved, perhaps a different framing altogether... Sorry. 3, just-married |
| 09/11/2002 11:14:00 AM | Pearby ritaardComment: What beautiful eyes your model has. And what a strange photo. It appeals to me though. A bit of Magritte in it -- don't know if that was intentional. Funny that two people should have Magritte like images. Anyway, 6-7, I'll decide as the week passes. just-married |
