I can see your point ... that the christian cross bears a resemblance to the shape of the panels of the door. I understand from your title that it isn't coincidental, but rather an intentional symbolism. Cool so far. For me, however, this is not the intent of the framing challenge theme. Your foreground element doesn't frame the rest of the image.

Maybe it's my monitor but the dark band in the middle of the photo is totally black and without detail. I think if it were lighter, the photo would appeal to me more and the tie in to the theme would be more evident.

I'm not sure what's framing what. Maybe if it were bigger, it would be obvious. If your camera can handle it, making the image bigger would help.

Clever idea well executed. The levels and reflections are terrific. Composition is interesting. While it technically meets the challenge, the real strength of the photo is the right half, and it steals the thunder from the left a bit. Among my top picks.
