Part of meby bobdaveantComment: I initially gave this a pass based on thumbnail skimming. However, when I opened it ... it was a "wow" photo. I love the pixelated style. Unusual, but not so avant guard as to be jarring. Intense emotionally. Colors are fantastic. Composition is spot on. In fact all the technicals are right. Congratulations. Among my top picks. |

I´ve got a pink ideaby denjauComment: I assume you intended the soft focus and blown highlights, but it doesn't resonate with me. Also, the highly saturated color hurts my teeth. Sorry iof this seems negative. It's just how I react to it. |

No strings attached by arngrimurComment: Love this abstract image. Colors and textures work exceptionaly well together. Composition may be the best in the challenge. Among my top 5 picks. |

Hard Drive by dogzComment: I looked at this, and looked, and looked. I was about to request a DQ and saw that it had been validated. What a fantastic capture. I hope you'll tell us how you did it! Among my top 5. |

Upon a Curvy Shoreby leteneleComment: Beautiful image. Well composed and captured. IMO it is a bit too bright and would benefit from slightly greater contrast, but as-is, it's among my top 5. Congratulations. This could well ribbon. |

Destroyedby fiasco003Comment: The most disturbing photo of the challenge. You have captured and transmitted the emotional agony of the animal and the emotional agony we should feel over the senseless slaughter of animals. The photo is very busy. However, the chaotic busy-ness of it contributes to the sense of chaos so I guess it works in this case. There are some jpeg artifacts but it is probably due to the busy-ness and the failure of jpeg to compress a busy image very well. Congratulations on a great photo. |

welcome to my little worldby hopperComment: This started out a 5 in my preliminary voting and after successive views got bumped 1 by 1 to a 10. I love the simplicity of the photo. The composition is perfect. Focus and DOF are spot on. Colors are fantastic. This feels like a ribbon winner to me. Congratulations. |

Go Southby jonrComment: I like this a lot but would like it better if there weren't such a halo around the subject. Maybe it was just like this when the shutter clicked but it feels like a post processing error ... to much dodge and burn. Or maybe too little around the edges. |

Hey - Look At That!by DrakeComment: A few weeks ago I took a bunch of seagull-in-flight pictures in San Francisco. I now have a better appreciation of how hard they are to get right. This one is quite interesting because the bird is in a non-typical flight attitude. Well captured. Well focused. The halo around the bird is distracting and lowers my score somewhat. I don't know if the original resolution would stand up to it but I think if the bird filled more of the frame, it would be better. |

Grazing Gazeby dartompkinsComment: Lost a little focus on the head. The halo is distracting. Otherwise a nice capture. |
