The Brides Maidby dustin03Comment: I see what you're trying to do here. I like the sharp focus on the bride's maid. I like the saturation of the girl and the flowers and the desaturation of the weding party. Showing her from behind (through her eyes, sort of) creates immediacy to the girl's lonliness and perhaps, envy. I like all of that, but background is a bit too dark. It's out of focus, I'm sure with intentional choice of DOF. You might try other choices of desaturation... saturate the bride and groom and desaturate all else, for example. Desaturate all but the flowers and the bride and groom, for example. You get the idea. I'm not very good at this, yet, so these are just personal opinions. Keep shooting, it's a great idea for a photo and the idea is the hardest part. |

Zinniaby luv2photoComment: Subject could have been okay but composition weakens the photo substantially. Leaves at the bottom and the flower itself lead the eye out of the photo. It feels too tightly cropped on the right. Bottom part of the league tables IMO. |

The Crucifictionby SharQComment: Interesting use of blurred technique. Range of color and contrast is interesting. Vignetting (sp?) is somewhat interesting. Probably a pretty risky photo in this forum. The combination of the title and the photo pushes it down somewhat in my view. Same photo with different title would have gotten an extra point or two from me. Bottom part of the league tables IMO. |

Americaby RebAlComment: I understand your point but it was a bit of a struggle. Execution and subject just don't hold my interest. Bottom part of the league tables IMO. |

New England on $1.50by PopeTomComment: Idea is fine. Execution is fine. Composition leaves a lot to be desired. Holds little sustained interest for me. Bottom part of the league tables IMO. |

The Hunterby DufusComment: Technical execution is okay but you really lost me with the subject. Bottom part of the league tables IMO. |

Midnight Stormby sharveyComment: Wow!
Great storm capture. I like the way the city lights light up the clouds on the right and the way the lightning lights 'em up on the left. You lost me a little with blurred lights themselves but that's not the focus of the picture so it doesn't matter much IMO. Among my top picks. |

The Great Smoky Mountainsby DougPazComment: Classic study of distance and shading. Wonderfully executed. Ridgelines are interesting. Well done. Among my top picks. |

Still life with fruitby willemComment: I'm not much of a still life fan but this is so well done I have to like it. Powerful composition with extraordinary contrast to frame the subject. Among my top picks. |

A Good Day's Workby dsidwellComment: Very nice dramatic contrast between the three zones of the picture ... dramatic sky, snowy foot hills, and warm fulfilled fields. Great composition. Great color and contrast. Nice dynamic range of levels with good white point/black point. Among my top picks. |
