Could use a bit more edge delineation/rim lighting (at least on one additional side of candle) to help viewer find their bearings. I'll have to assume that the lower dull light is the flame's reflection on some sort of surface. Too many things to guess at here on a subject that should be easy to distinguish.... kinda cool in it's own abstract way, but rather distracting at the same time. Needs more visual info if you're going to convince viewers that THIS is the ultimate vision of silence. :)

Doesn't quite hit me with the idea of 'silence'. A basketball beneath the backboard would have helped, leaving me to ponder why the ball was there alone or what had interrupted the game. Nice attemp at framing the backboard with the two groups of trees on either side, but would have preferred if they were equal distance from the subject. You don't see too many real-life frames off-balance like this, if you know what I mean. ;) Good idea with potential. Keep it up!

Well, it certainly makes for a good stock photo where everything needs to be painfully spelled out for the viewer! ;) Nice composition and varied/multiple light sources. Lots of other entries with same basic idea, but yours was done with a bit more care and technical ability.

Be sure to give your makeup dept. my compliments. ;) Certainly a different slant than using duct tape. Funky eye-socket shadows look strangely amped up.

I'll have to assume this is a hearing aid, never having worn one or seen one of these newer models. Not much detail in green parts shadows. Could use better fill lighting/reflectors to help in that regard. Silver battery has turned too dark because of that as well and seems to have picked up a green cast from the green earpiece.

I like the framing/composition of your shot. Good capture of emotion. The theme is silence, but the very title of your photo makes me think there IS no silence for this poor girl. I think your shot would have worked well for another challenge, but SILENCE just doesn't seem to due it justice. Keep it up! :)

Do Not Disturb

NO WAKE is quite a bit different than NO NOISE with regards to boating. However, your photo would have worked GREAT if you could have captured someone/yourself snoozing beneath/in front of the sign, making a visua connection/gag that the NO WAKE sign now doubles as a "DO NOT DISTURB" request for the happily snoring person.

I hope this phone was dead BEFORE it hit the water. If not, I have to admire the phone for "taking one for the team" by posing for this shot. Quite different! All it needed as a goldfish staring at it. :) Some distracting reflections and vertical lines weaken it some. Nice going! :)

I like the chance you took with this idea...a worthy effort. Without the title I'm not sure I would have immediately caught the meaning behind this photo though. Was there a reason you cropped off the edge of the war sticker? Keep at it! :)

I really like what you've captured here. The contrasting colors are great. It certainly looks "glorious". You almost expect to hear golden trumpets sounding, rather than golden silence. Nice. :)
