Lone Treeby omnibusComment by BrennanOB: you loose detail in the sky and the shadows , perhaps a polarising filter would have darkened the sky a bit, but I find myself squinting into this shot to try to see details that aren't there. I also find the crop a bit too tight on the bottom given the space above the tree tip. Nice sense of place and quite though. |

Lone Treeby omnibusComment by Tallbloke: Interesting composition blatantly ignoring the rule of thirds...good. Pity the sky is overexposed. |

Lone Treeby omnibusComment by Artifacts: The setting for this image is wonderful and a good photo choice. This reminds me of the problem I always have photographing cactus because they are generally much taller than the things that surround them like you have with your subject here. I try to offset it to one side or the other with something of interest on the other side of the frame to balance the image better. Don't know if that can be done here but centering images generally gives them more of a snapshot quality then an artistic nature photograph. |

Lone Treeby omnibusComment by blemt: Very striking. You might consider tinkering with the sky once this is out of the challenge. I think with a slightly darker sky this could be striking! |

Lone Treeby omnibusComment by melismatica: I gave this a four. A closer view might have helped if that was possible. The image is very high key and contrasty. It is difficult to see any detail between the overexposed reflections and sky and the underexposed shadows. The color is rather harsh and cold for this scene. |

Lone Treeby omnibusComment by sfalice: Wouldn't it have been grand if the tree had a bird at the top or a nest somewhere on it! It's a good image, and perhaps would have been more powerful had the tree been offcenter. Excellent clarity and depth of field. |
