Nice colors, some dynamics is presented too.

I'd like to see more of the dragon's head, otherwise the attention is caught by the tongue only.

The dragon is ready to fly away, just into the space between clouds, but yet he can fry you if you step forward any further. :-)) The dragon is hot - the sky is cool.

I gave this shot +6 and wonder why did it fall back so much?

I like the shadows falling forward. How about a tiny glow around the edges of the heads ears?

This is rooster. So? Anything that makes it special? I am trying to find something to justify the composition and acieved effect. How about this idea: even more blurred subject and some meaningful symbolic background in focus?
The A60 is a very nice camera - I know a guy who beeing an amateur published a whole album of pro-quality shots.

The dogs look exactly like that when they are seeking mice... Nice expression caught! Interesting contrast of colors - they complement each other somehow.

I would prefer the second paw visible - for the balance and put the right eye closer to the center of the image. Some side-lighting of the head would not hurt either.

From Critique Club. Hello from Toronto ;-))

I would argue with Nephrotic. With this image the skewed horizon is irrelevant - think of a kid who is trying to look into horse's eyes. This is exacly what the kid would see. And the horse is busy and shy a little bit... just quarter second before turning the head on you!

The shot quality is really outstanding.

I gave it +6, not +10 just because this is a Zodiac challenge and the Zodiac horse has to be mystical and symbolic.

I disagree with those who did not like the burned-out spot. The concept of the image IMHO has based on the contrasts: light buring the heart of the Dragon (I'd made it concentrated little higher on the chest and gave it some glow) and the shadow. The shadow does not have to stand apart from the body - overlap is OK and be lager, darker and more blurred. You can not separate the Dragon and his shadow - the self-esteem. And composition would benefit too - currently it is split unevenly leaving just the tip of wing in the center of attention. Teeth must also be in focus...

Overall: very good underlying idea, nice choice of methods to render it and need improvement in details ;-)) +5

On my screen it looks 3D - the toy is stepping out of the frame. Partially this is the benefit of the frame, partially thanks to the contrast of blending dark parts of the animal with the background and the light fur.

I just have a doubt: if this is a challenge, why would one shoot the subject of it if he/she hopes to win the competition? Unless of course it is something exclusive or very symbolic. The toy is just a toy...

I voted for this image among the top in the challenge. The advantages of the shot are well noted and praised by other speakers above and I commit to those.

Now as you have mentioned cropping - there is a tiny note regarding composition. We see that this is a capture of the initial phase (very unusual) of the jump and the jump is going to be into the left-bottom quarter of the frame. The dog is positioned at the center with a small displacement to the left and the front paws are relaxed before spring action - already in the left-botton quadrant. What if you put those paws right into the center of the image? Thus the dog will get some space in front to jump into and this will also confirm that this is a high energy jump.
