This is lovely and emotive image. The colors are really striking in their complement. Grain adds a lovely nostalgia to this as well. (I do want to note for you, assuming you don't know already, that "coolie" is an extremely offensive term in the U.S.....just in case all the low votes roll in on that account.)

I really like this one! The wind-blown hair just makes it! So expressive of the moment....lots of "story" here!

Well...if you had to post it, at least the B&W conversion was a good choice.

This is so "Steve"! Excellent job, Lee!
@pawdrix...I think you should buy the royalties for this one for your profile image. :)

A spent sunflower tiredly leaning--nice subject for duotones. I love the texture and the way the lighting shows it off!

Composition: The eye is led in from the left by the stem and comes to a stop at the seed head. There is, after that, little for the eye to do except start over. The balance within the frame feels awkward--though that may help convey the inevitable falling of the flower stalk. Perhaps other approaches to the framing or cropping would have worked better--hard to say.

Technical: I see nothing wrong with this technically. There is a nice range of tones, detail in the shadows, and various tones in the sky which help avoid a dull backdrop to your subject.

Overall, I think you have chosen and interesting subject, tried to convey a mood and suggest a story. It's not the sort of image that will immediately graab all viewers--but if one is willing to spend some time with it, they will discover its subtle appeal.

Neat. Seagull abstract? There's something about this that is like being there...I can imagine laying on a blanket on the sand at sunset looking up and mindlessly watching the gulls overhead....needs a soundtrack.

Lovely! What an unusual shape the heron makes! Backlighting is delicious! Only bothersome thing is how the feathers of the right wing kiss the border of the image.

Almost perfect...it needs a trim on the right side to remove that distracting window frame.
