A World Discoveredby ImagineerComment: Perfect title! What story! How often does a subject looking off frame actually work? Lighting, texture, dramatic color all work to success here. |

give us a kissby arngrimurComment: A real attention grabber. Her expression, and the lighting just make me want to continue watching her watching. |

Arlington Cemeteryby RockBruiseComment: Not the usual cemetary shot! I like how the long-lived tree spreads its arms over the multitude of gravestones. The color reminds me of old slide film--I'm not sure if that helps give a vintage feel or just seems off. Still, nice take. |

Autumn is leavingby jmott78Comment: Very crisp! I love the display of surface tension where the leaves meet the water. What an interesting place to find good "bokeh"--in the reflection. You've made an interesting abstract, though I do wish the leaves were differently composed. |

Clearing stormby GordonComment: Otherworldly! I love the contrast of textures--the rough sky with the smooth sands. Dramatic lighting creates an intense mood. Though the black and white has its own beauty, I feel like I want to see the color in the sky. Still, well done. |

The deeper you go the thicker it getsby hdogg4uComment: Lovely path! The soft colors create a nice mood, but the tone seems slightly off. The white scrap at the side distracts from the otherwise nearly pristine setting. The photo itself is nice, I think it could be nicer if you re-think the post-processing. |

coney island slalomby muckpondComment: Interesting story! The image has a great deal of mood, but t seems the "moment" hasn't yet arrived in this photo. Technically, I'm very bothered by the tipped horizon and leaning lamp posts. Black and white is a perfect choice for a vintage feel. |

Waiting Woodland Waldoby jonpinkComment: Pretty scene. I think I see "Waldo" on the shore to the far left of the image. It's hard to tell because this has lost detail in the shadows--a little too dark for my tastes. Otherwise it's lovely: the branches outlined with snow, the shapes building depth through the image, the perfect blacks and whites.... |

The Peak at Sunsetby vtruanComment: I bet I'm not the only one who can't find "Waldo" in this picture. ..
Exposure lacks detail in the shadows. The whole looks almost solarized with an odd color-cast. A pet peeve of mine is tipped horizons. The subject had potential, this just didn't make it for me. |
