I like the shallow depth of field - it really brings attention to the orchid. Lighting is wonderful, the white is great without being glaring. My only problem is I find it a little hard to see the bottom of the orchid against the background - but only a small problem. Well done.

Nice work - he has a wonderful smile. Personally I would have included all of his arms at the bottom of the shot. Also the photo looks like it has two much red in it - perhaps reflection from the red tube though - a little work in photoshop might produce a more natural skin tone. I really like this photo though - well done.

The lighting is very well balanced - good work. Focus is also good. Your framing is quite different from what I might have done, but it is interesting nonetheless. I like the way the background ties in with the centre of the flower.

This could become a postcard - so I guess it definitely meets the "cliche" component. Colours are wonderful, focus is very good and placing the sun behind the palm was a really good idea. Well done.

Nice photo - Focus is ok, colour is good and the bird is delightful. I might have tried applying "rule of thirds" to this image - perhaps placing the birds eye at the top/left third point. The shallow depth of field brings attention to the bird, but I might have tried even a shallow-er depth of field to really blur the background. Great shot.

A Cliché Perspective?

Wow, I love the way the sky/fog blends into the snow - there is really no horizon line. My only negative about this image is the shadow at the very bottom - obvisouly from the next pole. I might have included this pole and then the perspective of the shadows would also be obvious - very well done though.

Interesting composition - it makes those towering buildings seem incredibly insignificant. As a cityscape it's not that good - not enough city, but as a photo it's quite interesting. There is some distortion from the lens (buildings on each edge lean in) which you could process out if you were going to print this image, although it would probably not be allowed in the competition.
