Legends & Forefathersby HUETHComment: The composition is good and even the selective colour works OK.
It's the blur processing that really bothers me. It is killing the picture. |

I would say that this is a film SLR with the pentaprism box removed. You are looking directly at the focusing screen. |

Velvety Smoothby RyanWComment: Too much processing for my taste. It looks more like an illustration or a drawing than a photo. The blown out highlights on the D50 badge is distracting, as well. |

Snapshotby odriewComment: Nice subject(s) and processing resembles of a Polaroid shot.
Having said that, i would have:
- Cropped the distracting negative space from above. This would have the added bonus of making the image more-or-less Polaroid aspect ratio.
- Added a Polaroid style white border
- (maybe) Asked the model to tuck in her right (camera left) leg so it doesn't get chopped off. |

iDid Theseby FocusPointComment: Interesting choice of subject. Not being a camera per se is not why this image doesn't work for me. I actually think that it's quite an original idea and meets the challenge well. It's the combination of the exposure, the distorted base of the lamp and the processing.
Sorry :-( |
