Pepper No. 14by EstimatedEyesComment: Im not sure if this is more Weston or Cunningham, but it sure is good. The lighting is very strong with two quibbles. I know monitor to monitor will be different but I see no edge at the bottom right, and I miss it, and the pocket of fabric on the left foreground that is lit adds a distracting element. Those are quibbles in a beautiful image. The rim lighting on the left side of the pepper is just perfect. |

race dayby jmritzComment: I like the wash of grit here, and while I have been rating the images that get their asymmetry strictly through framing rather poorly, for some reason this one is among my top handful. |

Blown Awayby chazoeComment: a nice use of narrow DOF, and delicate yet vibrant colors make this a top contender. If only you could have gotten that drifting pod over her fingers out into the black, it would have been perfect. |

Color of the Seaby Ja-9Comment: This is a tough one to vote on.
It is a lovely image with a delicate set of pastel colors framed perfectly.
The subject is one of the most perfect examples of symmetry in nature. Google "nautilus symmetry" and you get 146,000 results and if you hit image, you get many images similar to this.
So while I like the image, the subject is so antithetical to the challenge that I'm not sure how to score it. I will think on it and return. |

OK!!! Who's SUP Board?by wdammanComment: The pool of light on the grass steals a lot of interest, and seems as in focus as the rack. A narrower DOF would have helped in that regard, There are nice colors and textures in the watercraft, but they struggle against the background. |

Handle with care by IreneMComment: I am torn on this one. The colors of your lighting are lovely, but the shot would have been just as nice if the cup and saucer were made of clay; There is a bit of light play in the cup handle but not much elsewhere. Never the less it is one of the top shots, but with some small shifts to get more light into the glass, it would have been the clear favorite. |
